1. Cleveland Golf Men’s 588 RTX

We will be starting our list with a reputed and well-known brand in the Golf industry, Cleveland. Cleveland Golf is known for manufacturing some of the best golf accessories. This time again, they have come up with a great product.

RTX stands for rotex face here, which is a micro-milling and laser process is done to create additional roughness in between the grooves. This ends up creating a lot more friction than your usual wedges, which translates to a lot more spin in a shot. Being a cavity back wedge with a relatively wide sole, it is also quite forgiving. The 588 RTX 2.0 is not designed for maximum forgiveness and extreme flight trajectory. However, it is still pretty forgiving with large enough sweet spots.

The amazing steel build of 588 RTX helps you achieve the 52-degree angles very easily, which is very important for a good shot. The raw materials that have been used to build the wedge are of top quality with a very sturdy and premium feel. The wider sole measurement around the heel and a narrow sole width near the toe helps to increase its trajectory and consistency as well. You can use and test this wedge at different surfaces and we are pretty sure that you will achieve consistent results every time.

For those looking for shot shaping versatility but with some amount of forgiveness, the Cleveland 588 RTX 2.0 is a great choice

What we like:

  • RTX 588 is one of the most durable and sturdy golf wedges you can get.
  • 16% larger grooves maximize the spin power and lets you achieve a good balance in a shot.
  • The wider sole helps to improve the bunker performance and usability without compromising on performance.
  • Tour Zip Grooves lets you achieve a much better control and flow over the wedge.

What we don’t like:

  • Not suitable for amateurs as it takes some time to adjust to its working.
  • You have to put more force in your shots because of its heavy build and weight.
  • The black finish tends to fade out after some months of usage.

TaylorMade Men's Graphite AW M2 Iron(Right, Regular)
  • Dramatic distance from every iron
  • Graphite-reax 65
  • Grip-tm speed grey end cap 600

One of the hottest brands in the market for drivers and woods is TaylorMade. The M2 wedges from this company are built keeping distance in mind, they are the longest wedges that you will find in the market today.

TaylorMade has created these wedges has made these clubs to launch the ball as high as possible to achieve maximum distance combined with forgiveness and steep landing angle.

The biggest highlight for the M2 clubs is the Face Slot, designed to preserve ball speed on mishits. Meaning, if you struck a shot toward the toe or heel, your performance in distance won’t dip as much as with regular wedges. The face slot indirectly improves forgiveness, while also making your well-struck shots even more satisfying. TaylorMade’s Speed Pocket enables the face to flex more during impact, which translates into a higher ball speed.

Distance and height is the emphasis of the TaylorMade M2 Wedge. Being a cavity back wedge paired with the Face Slot technology, the M2 Wedge is also quite forgiving, which is definitely a plus point.

What we like:

  • The most forgiving option in this list of ours; owing to the face slot technology
  • One of the longest wedges available today; built keeping distance in mind

What we dont’ like:

  • Because its for a very high spin, it might be require more practice to properly control

Callaway’s designers have created a new design in the grooves of the wedges that is almost impossible to see, but it simply delivers results that will astonish anyone.

these to take the limits of the micro grooves and make them ‘Micro Positive’ so instead of the grooves being recessed into the head they are turned inside out and protrude from the surface.

The Mack Daddy 4 wedges have traditional square grooves across the clubface that generate ball spin, but Callaway added micro-grooves to the club. So instead of the grooves being recessed into the head they are turned inside out and protrude from the surface. This creates a more prominent rough surface between the actual grooves and enables the face to get stuck into the cover of the ball at impact to create more spin.

The face also features the ‘Nip It’ groove at the bottom of the face that comes over from the Mack Daddy Forged wedge is there to improve spin on strikes that are a little on the thin side

Because of the grooves in Callaway’s design of the  Mack Daddy 4, it delivers an amazingly high level of grip and spin on the ball. The Mack Daddy looks great and combined with the cutting edge technology, they perform great as well. This wedge is available in chrome and black.
